Darkest Ocean

So, another year, another Game Jam. This years theme was "Wave" so I made a game where you have to save as much cargo as possible, a no brainer for an idea. Surprisingly, I did not had to rush the game too. It was done when there were about 5 hours left. And I haven't slept for only one night too!
Another thing different in LT game jam was that this year there were no presentations of created games, but trailers instead. It really saved some time, where before each game team had to go to computer play the game and speak about it (have in mind that if game was made for mac, mobile or VR platform it would took even more time). And since we were made to create trailers for the game created, that means I can share the gameplay faster. So here ya go. Trailer of "Darkest Ocean"!
And for those who want to download it and compete in leaderboards, you can download it here (Windows only, HTML5 doesn't work well with physics, so that kinda falls out).

Challenged By The Gods

Another year has passed (or few when looking at this blog) - another Game Jam game was created. This time at GGJ 2016 with a theme "Ritual". Taking it directly, me and my team created sand-boxy game called "Challenged by the Gods" about a priest who must teach his tribesmen to follow a healthy lifestyle by performing tasks in a routine. Also, this priest must figure out, that routine first, doing that right, he gains "ritual points". But everything is not that easy, because gods have their wishes too. If a priest does not follow them, gods will destroy whole tribe, but doing those tasks sets priest's routine away, losing him "ritual points". So player must choose it's focus to make world a better place, if there will be any world at all after a week.
Game is not finished, three days are done for player to have a taste difficulty of a priest life. You can get compiled project HERE.

Deploy 'n Charge

This weekend I attended Live Mobile Congress conferention and there was 2D puzzle game 24h Gamejam. This is what my team came up to in the end. A tetris like strategy game named "Deploy 'n Charge". Gameplay is rather simple, you have to beat all enemy troops with your ones. Rules are that Pikeman beats Knight, Knight beats Archer and Archer beats Pikeman. Of course you have limited amount of troops and you must deploy them in a shape, provided to you in each turn. It is not finished, but you try the game HERE. It also has a facebook page, which you can find HERE. We're planning to finish this game, by adding campaign mode along with arcade one (this also includes fixing bugs of current release)

Stepping into 3D modeling

After a big struggle against my free time and myself I finally finished something show able. "Drum_roll.mp3" .......... C.O.G. organization nano mage, alien, don't know the name of race, will think about that later.
Model is RTS unit size, or at least I think it is. It has 1166 tris; texture, normal and illumination maps. Left to rig it and put some animations. Made with blender and rendered with Unity.
So far I can say that it is quite fun to model, but UV unwrapping, rigging or dealing with Blender is not much fun. Probably would have done a month ago, but normal maps refused to bake as expected and made me to take a break. In the end, used faulty normal maps edited with photoshop.

P.S. Yes, this is a model for new "Achar Chronicles" game.

Pixel Man - The Scourge of Blobs

Figured that I haven't posted here for ages, so just to show, that I haven't died, I'll share some news here.
First of all, I'm learning 3D art, so that goes modeling, animating and of course making 3D games. I have few models made, maybe I'll share them in few weeks.
With all that, started to work on a 3D game. Actually, remaking Proditor from 2D to 3D. Mostly because wanted to try something new. Planning to use Unity 3D game engine, since I got familiar with it.
Also made a few games in that time. Nothing special, mostly trying some new stuff. For example "Pixel Man". Semi 3D Pac-Man like game, walk around, coolect coins, kill enemies, when have upgrade. Only one level, but feel free to try: Download Link

P.S. I like image effects, so please don't judge :)

The Endless Night

This weekend I took part in Global Game Jam. It's objective was to create a game in 48 hours (including sleep). After a struggle with myself, I managed to finish it in a last hour.
It's an adventure game (oh noes, who could have though?) in medieval setting. Resolution is quite low 320x240, so that makes it's my first completed pixel game! Story is about an adventurer named Gintvilas, who is stuck in the mystical manor. Character is stuck in a loop, which sociates with GGJ theme. Your objective is to escape that house.
This is a short game, with original backgrounds and sprites. Music was done by Paulius Michalovskis. You can download the game here.

Achar Chronicles: Proditor

My second game in Achar Chronicles series is "Proditor" which translates to traitor. In this game you play as Regor Witrial, a diplomat from C.O.G., and his sister Kataya Witrial (the same person you saw/will see in Roger's Quest II) are taken as a prisoners by G.S.G. The main objective is to escape of course, but it's not that easy, because there is more than physical prison.
This is my first pixel game. I started it long time ago, but it was on hold for some time. Since I finished with papers, I managed to make this game into "showable" state. Though don't know when I'll finish it, but I guess it won't be soon. Game resolution is 320x200 which is quite low, but I find this stile quite interesting and cute.
